Birmingham born guitarist, Tony Kelsey turned professional at the age of 18 playing on the London pub and club scene.  In 1979 he was asked to Alvin Stardust and toured extensively across the UK and Europe.

In 1982 he joined Birmingham 60’s legend ‘Mike Sheridan and the Nightriders’, as Roy Wood had done a ‘few’ years before!

Following this he became a member of the resident band at Birmingham’s prestigious ‘Comedy Club’ alongside people such as Bev’s old school pal, Jasper Carrot, Jack Dee, Phil Cool and Phil Jupitus

In the last few years, Tony has been working as a freelance session musician working with such names as Jaki Graham, Ruby Turner, Jim Capaldi, Sara Colman, Steve Gibbons, Kelly Grocutt, Jess Roden, The Undisputed Truth, The Impressions, Red Shoes, Dave Morgan, Chris Eaton, Keith Donnelly, Tony Iommi and Steve Winwood.

Currently collaborating with local folks/roots duo Red Shoes (Carolyn Evans & Mark Evans) on their new album, (alongside Dave Pegg, Dave Swarbrick and Ric Sanders), with Mick Dolan (Mick Jagger, Steve Winwood, Jim Capaldi, Ralph McTell) in the producers chair.  Tony has also guested on local drumming legend Mike Kellie (Spooky Tooth, Peter Frampton, The Only Ones) also featuring Steve Winwood and Steve Gibbons on his long awaited solo album ‘The Hidden’.

Also part of the ‘It’s Only Rock & Roll’ tour featuring Bev Bevan, Trevor Burton, Raymond Froggatt, Geoff Turton, Steve Gibbons and Danny King and next year featuring Jasper Carrot.
